Our Mission 🚀

The goal of Recurse ML is to make shipping reliable code fast and fun. To do this, we are on the quest to build the best bug identification models in the world. Our product is a GitHub App that identifies bugs in PRs (have a look). We differentiate from other code-review tools by focusing on hard to find bugs.

We need your help in ensuring that these models are fast, reliable, and contribute to delightful developer experiences. You’ll primarily work directly with the CTO, and as we grow, you’ll have the opportunity to choose between building and technical leadership.

Our tech stack: FastAPI, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Anthropic + OpenAI, and Google Cloud Run

For ML tasks we use 🤗transformers + PyTorch and Wandb

About you 😎

You’ll have technical freedom to choose the highest impact tasks based on business context; that’s the “founding” part in Founding Engineer. That being said here are some projects you might choose to work on:

1. Make LLMs aware of library versions when doing bug identification📚
2. Build indices for retrieving relevant context within a codebase🔎
3. Redesign our web service to use a message queue💌
4. Implement an async eval workflow that integrates into our CI/CD📊
5. Build and lead a world-class team of software engineers🌍

We are looking for a Senior Python programmer to join as a Founding Engineer. By “Senior”, we mean someone with an exceptional track record of projects and shipped products.
